Weekly WordPress News: Another Security Update, Putting Family First
So first up this week, we have another security update from the team. Make sure all your sites are running 4.2.4 as it fixes some security issues like cross site scripting and SQL injections.
Jeff blogged about putting family first over at the Tavern, which sparked an interesting comment from Chris Lema. This is something that I had to find a solution to since I now have a young family also ( a 2 year old and a new baby ). I solved this pretty simply but just getting up a lot earlier than usual – I now start my work day at 5.30 in the morning so I can a good few hours of work in before the rest of the household is awake. I can then finish my day around 4pm and spend the rest of the day with the family, one of the benefits of working for yourself at home. I also have made it a rule to not work weekends now – when I used to work a full-time job as well as running my own websites I worked every evening and most of the weekends as well which was easier without a family and part of the sacrifice needed to make the transition to working for myself.
I wrote a little yesterday about my decision to move WPLift over to Siteground, check it out and bare them in mind if you are looking for a solid WP hosting company.
Take a look at the news from the past 7 days and have a good weekend everyone!
