Last week, Automattic gave a glimpse into WordPress’ future by unveiling Calypso, a brand new interface for users of their WordPress.com service and also an app for Mac users which mirrored the same interface. Built in Javascript using the REST API it was an update 2 years in the making – you can read Matt’s announcement here, take a look at it here and download the Mac client and delve into the source code here. This week also, I noticed a few articles about Freemius’ new insights for plugins developers – it allows you to receive statistics about your plugin’s usage like how many active sites its used on, reasons for uninstalling, WordPress and PHP versions etc. Check it out, it looks like a great product for helping you improve your products.
