Weekly WordPress News: 80 Free Themes of The Year, WPLift Hiring & More.

I hope everyone had a good Holiday and New Year celebration, this was my first week back in work properly after some nice time off, you might have noticed I didn’t post much on WPLift for the last 2 weeks of the year as I took some time off with my family. I love the Christmas holidays as its the only time throughout the year I can have some real time off ( I even work each day when I take a holiday), traffic is down as everyone is gearing up for Christmas and not worrying too much about their WordPress projects.

This week has been about easing back into the daily routine and planning out some projects for the coming year – I’m still in the process of planning my business for the next 12 months and setting goals etc. One thing definitely on my list is a new design for WPLift, this current version has served the site well since I created it in 2013 and this version brought quite a few changes from the previous version so Im just thinking about how I can really push the site forward with the next one.

2015 was a good year for the business but I’ve realised that to drive things further in 2016 I’m going to have to start hiring more people to work with, I’m currently looking for people who can help with writing content around design and WordPress and also for a theme developer who can create themes from supplied designs – these will be for free releases here on WPLift and also for my commercial theme shop ThemeFurnace. If you are interested in either position, give me a shout and we can have a chat.

If you are looking for a new theme, don’t forget to check out our roundup of 80 of the best free themes from 2015. I hand-picked my favourite themes and split them up into categories, the quality of themes in this post is really high and rivals the output from most premium theme shops.

Let’s get on with the first WordPress news of 2016!
