Today we are looking at two plugins designed for WooCommerce shop owners: Product Sales Report and Export Order Items, these are both plugins designed to compliment and extend WooCommerce’s reporting capabilities and let you download the results in CSV, HTML and Excel formats. The plugins are built by Potent Plugins, a Canadian company who specializes in creating many different free and premium WordPress plugins.

Product Sales Report Pro allows you to export product sales figures (quantities, gross sales amounts, etc.) for each product in aggregate.

Export Order Items Pro exports each product-based order line item individually (and thus has the ability to include additional data specific to individual orders and customers).

Both plugins come with a number of pre-defined report fields and also include the ability to add custom fields by selecting from meta fields defined in the user’s WordPress/WooCommerce installation. Output formats are CSV, XLS, XLSX, and HTML, and report settings can be saved as presets for easy recall. Product Sales Report Pro additional includes the ability to directly email the report as an attachment, eliminating the need to download the file and attach to an email manually.

Both plugins offer a free version so you can test them out, and also offer pro versions which include extra functions, take a look at the features list below for comparison.

If you wish to upgrade to the pro versions of the plugins, you can use coupon code WPLIFT15 which will give you 15% off the purchase price.

Finally, you can pick some options to include products with no sales, include shipping and choose a format for the report ( CSV, XLSX, XLS, HTML ) and if you wish you can enter a name for this report in the “Create New Preset” box which will allow you to save this report to run again in future. Once you are happy with all the chosen options, click the “Download Report” button or enter an email and have it emailed to you.

Here you can see a report that I ran on one of my eCommerce sites showing sales reports ordered by gross sales and including the current product price. This was from a .CSV file that I opened up in Excel – the blank lines are from products that have been deleted but their sales figures remain.

How to use Export Order Items Pro

Export Order Items is creating reports of which items were ordered, who ordered them and lets you include details like the buyers name and email etc. To get started with it, activate the plugin and enter your license code as before and you can then set your report options. Choose your export options and then you can download the report as before in CSV, XLSX, XLS, HTML format.
