Hello and welcome to the WPLift newsletter, where we bring you the latest news and updates from the WordPress community.

In this edition, we have some exciting news to share with you about the upcoming WordPress Community Summit, an invitation-only event that will take place before WordCamp US on August 22-23, 2023, in National Harbor, Washington, DC. The Community Summit is a rare opportunity for contributors from different teams and projects to meet face-to-face and discuss important topics that affect the future of WordPress. Some of the topics that will be covered include performance, accessibility, Gutenberg, backwards compatibility, leadership roles, and more. You can check out the full schedule of discussions here.

The Community Summit is also committed to ensuring diversity and inclusion among its participants. That’s why this year, thanks to the generous support of sponsors like Automattic, A2 Hosting, Elementor, and Weglot, the event is providing $48,000 in travel assistance to 38 attendees who otherwise would not be able to attend due to financial reasons. This means that more voices and perspectives will be represented at the summit, which will enrich the conversations and outcomes.

We are thrilled to see this initiative and we hope that it will inspire more contributors to apply for the summit and join the WordPress community. We hope to see you there! Stay tuned for more WordPress news and updates in our next newsletter. Until then, happy WordPressing!🚀
