1. Matt Mullenweg

Does this name need an introduction? The co-founder of WordPress, he is even the Founder & CEO of Automattic, an American global distributed company behind WooCommerce, PocketCasts, Akismet, Simplenote, etc.

Matt Mullenweg holds a “State of the Word” event every year at Automattic, and speaks about the latest developments in WordPress.

At WordCamp US 2023, Matt will be conducting a session on “Gutenberg.” Here, he will discuss all the technical improvements made in Gutenberg this year, what users can expect from the block editor, and lastly, do a live Q&A with the attendees.

2. Josepha Haden Chomphosy

Josepha Haden Chomphosy has remained the Executive Director of the WordPress project since 2019. Her primary purpose is to build a diverse community of WordPress, and ensure it keeps moving forward. She has been guiding 25+ teams comprising thousands of volunteers across the globe. 

Josepha is highly passionate about building WordPress communities, and assisting people in sharpening the skills that they require to survive & thrive in this digital age.

In the upcoming WordPress event, she is taking a session on the “Future of WordPress.” She will be talking about the latest things happening in WordPress, and how we all can adopt the new-age WordPress.

3. Abby Bowman

Abby Bowman is NASA’s Web Modernization Lead, focusing on strengthening all the public websites and ensuring they offer a unified, world-class web experience. She is active in federal, web, UX, and other well-known open-source communities.

Abby Bowman will be taking two sessions at WordCamp US 2023.

Firstly, she will take a session on “For All Userkind: NASA Web Modernization and WordPress.” In this session, she will give an overview of all the flagship and science websites that NASA owns. 

She will take another session on “Hands on with NASA’s new digital platform.” In this session, she will be providing a tour of one of the well-known NASA websites.

4. Ross Minney

Ross Minney is currently the founder of House Technology Group, a popular Australian group of companies that emphasizes building highly creative tech solutions for businesses and organizations. He has excellent knowledge & experience with the tech industry, and loves to make products that enhance the lives of users worldwide. 

He loves programming, so he initially launched a Devhouse in 2005, IT House in 2008, and later founded a digital marketing agency with the name, HouseDigital in 2018. 

In the WordCamp US 2023, Ross Minney will be covering the topic “Crafting Seamless Experiences: Leveraging Single Page Applications for WordPress Integrations.” 

5. Sean Blakeley

Sean Blakeley is the WordPress Technical Director at AmericanEagle, an American clothing and accessories retailer. He had more than 15 years of experience working with WordPress. 

He had even given speeches at previous WordCamp events held worldwide. He talked about topics like “When to use the API” and “Block Pattern Revolution.” 

In the upcoming WCUS 2023, Sean Blakely will discuss “The Headless Block Editor.”

6. Shambi Broome

She is a well-known web developer and digital platform manager. She is running JMB Designs, a popular digital platform management company that focuses heavily on web development and internet marketing.

She even started a nonprofit organization called Webgylz Code, a comprehensive training program for young girls and women to uplift their tech skills. And the best thing is, she has even given various TED talks!

Talking about WordCamp US 2023, Shambi Broome will be taking a session on “How to Use WordPress to Make a Difference in the World.”

7. Gary McPherson

Gary McPherson has vast experience in multiple fields. He has been a developer, consultant, educator, and founder for over 2 decades. He is always ready to help Black communities in technology, and wants them to grow.

In WordCamp US 2023, Gary McPherson will be delivering a workshop on “Modern WordPress Development.” He will explain in detail how you can build secure, robust, and maintainable WordPress sites.

8. Courtney Patubo Kranzke

Apart from being a consultant, designer, and community organizer, Courtney Patubo Kranzke has remained a WordPress user since 2004. She loves creating WordPress resources, and making them public. You can find out her latest work on Learn.WordPress.org.
