I’m kicking off this list with Elementor, the most popular page builder available. This freemium plugin uses a proper drag-and-drop editor that includes numerous elements to add text, tables, lists, media, social sharing buttons, and much more. It is highly flexible and versatile, allowing you to create attractive, high converting pages and posts with no coding knowledge needed.

Discounted or not, Divi competes well with the other plugins, both price- and feature-wise. However, I must admit that I really dislike the landing page the developer has used to promote their Cyber Monday deal – you must trawl through loads of blurb and contend with intrusive pop-ups to get to the nitty-gritty. However, don’t let that deter you, as Divi is a capable plugin for creating great landing pages.

Overall, WPBakery is an excellent choice as it contains loads of good features. What I don’t like about it is the lack of a free or trial version to assess if it is the right plugin for you, and the fact that it contaminates your site’s code if you delete it will be frustrating.

OptimizePress
OptimizePress is another page builder plugin that uses a drag-and-drop visual interface to make building pages child’s play. However, one significant advantage this plugin has over the others listed is that it includes 40+ templates specifically designed for landing pages, unlike the generic templates offered by most other plugins. Furthermore, tons of other conversion-oriented tools would make OptimizePress a serious contender in a contest for the best landing page plugin for WordPress.

Two OptimizePress pans are available. The cheapest is ‘essential,’ which costs $99. It can be used on a single site and includes everything you need to get started. However, if you need things like A/B testing, sales funnel features, and metrics, you will need to shell out $199 per year, although that does cover unlimited domains.
Thrive Architect
Thrive Architect is a WordPress page builder with a strong leaning towards conversion optimization, making it a good option for landing pages. As with all page builders, it includes plenty of integral templates, but in this case, most are designed specifically for landing page applications.

Sadly, Thrive Architect is only available as part of Thrive Suite, not as a standalone plugin. However, the upside is that lots of other tools are included, like A/B testing, quiz builders, automation, and more. Unfortunately, it does make it a more expensive option, costing $228 per year, but given the functionality you get, that is good value. A quarterly option is also available, which costs $120.
Despite Thrive Architect being more expensive than the other plugins I have listed so far, I do think it is an excellent option because much of it was developed with landing pages and conversions in mind.
Leadpages
Leadpages is another good option for creating landing pages in WordPress. However, it functions differently from the other plugins I have listed so far, being a SaaS landing page builder that integrates with your WordPress site via a plugin instead of a standalone page builder plugin in its own right.
Your landing pages are built and edited in the Leadpages cloud dashboard but don’t worry, that also uses drag-and-drop like the other page builders. The best thing about this option is it is geared predominantly towards creating landing pages, so you will have all the functions needed to make those in one place.

What Is Your Favorite WordPress Landing Page Plugin?
So, I have explained why landing pages are important and what features a good WordPress landing page plugin should have, plus I have suggested some good ones that you may want to consider if you are new to creating these types of pages. However, if you are not a newbie, which plugin are you currently using, and what do you like and dislike about it?
Another (free) option would be to use the plugin “Elementor” which is a pretty new page builder plugin. I used the free version to create my landing page.
The plugin is pretty new and they are still developing new features. I found also, that they are responding very fast to bug reports, that’s why I really like this plugin. The free version is fine for setting up landing pages and regular pages for a site, but they also have a premium version.
I like Elementor a lot but I think for landing page creation sometimes it pays to have a specialized tool. Definitely a good option if the budget is tight, though!
While it is a general page building theme, Divi by Elegant themes is in my mind the best bang for the buck for theme and landing/sales page builder. They also have Divi builder that is a page builder for use with any theme. The options for general pages are fantastic and their blank page option combined with the available options in the builder allow for clean landing, squeeze and sales pages without the theme header. I paid $129 for the first year for their entire portfolio that includes a great form plugin with a ton of integrations (including SendinBlue for free for newbies) and a quality social plugin that enables floating or pop in sharing options. My renewal coincided with their black friday special and I bought lifetime access to the portfolio for under $189 (If i remember correctly). I think retail lifetime is $300-ish. They do sell al la carte as well.
Yeah I’m kicking myself for not buying the Black Friday sale. I think I’ll pick it up next year. Thrive Themes and Elegant Themes are definitely my two favorite packages for marketing-oriented sites.
