This is the last beta before the candidate 1 release, which is scheduled for July 18, 2023. That means they need our help to make sure this version is ready for prime time.

WordPress 6.3 brings you a lot of new features and improvements, such as:

  • A new default theme, Twenty Twenty-Three, that showcases the power and flexibility of the block editor.
  • A redesigned Site Health dashboard that provides more information and guidance on how to improve your site’s performance and security.
  • A new block-based Widgets screen that lets you customize your sidebars and widget areas with the same tools and blocks you use in the editor.
  • A new Pattern Directory that lets you browse and insert hundreds of beautiful and useful block patterns from the WordPress community.
  • A new WebP image format support that improves your site’s speed and reduces bandwidth usage.
  • A new Application Passwords feature that allows you to grant access to specific parts of your site to third-party apps and services without compromising your account security.
  • A new Lazy Loading feature that defers loading of images until they are visible in the viewport, improving your site’s loading time and user experience.
  • A new Update URI header that lets plugin and theme developers specify an alternative source for updates, such as a custom repository or a GitHub release.

And much more!
