Weekly WordPress News: WP Engine Acquires Flywheel
In one of the biggest WordPress acquisitions ever, WP Engine announced that they’ve acquired Flywheel, another popular managed WordPress host.
The numbers aren’t public, but this helps WP Engine move towards a $1 Billion valuation, as it prepares for an IPO in the somewhat-near future. Flywheel’s recurring annual revenue was $18 million at the time of the acquisition, compared to $132 million for WP Engine.
We had a blast at WordCamp in Berlin: learned so much, met great people. The visit was inspiring. Also, we have the location for next year’s WordCamp Europe 2020 – Porto.
