WordPress 4.6 has a couple of tweaks for us in store, in category and tag workflow and in backend font usage. WordPress is going to get away from the Google fonts and will start using system fonts instead.

Furthermore, I found an interesting article on Saas and WordPress by Matt Cromwell. A quite interesting topic on the future of plugin development with the business models discussed and the limitation that is there with WordPress data collection.
