The first thing you’ll see after creating an account on Visme is the Dashboard. Here you get all the essential elements strategically placed for easy access and faster design workflows.
You can create multiple workplaces to segment your files based on the project you are working on.
Creating new assets is as easy as clicking on the Create New button and selecting the project type from the list of options. Of course, if you’d rather import a PPTX file, you can do that too.
Depending on the option you choose, you can select a premade template from the grid and work on top of it.
Since Visme is designed to simplify the creative design process, it has thousands of predesigned starter templates for almost every use case. With their new Branded Templates feature, you can add your website’s link, and their automated system will fetch your brand logo, font, brand colors, and templates with matching styles for your templates. This makes it super easy to get started as you don’t have to enter this data manually.
You get access to an extensive templates library for:
- Web graphics
- Social graphics
If you want to start from scratch, you can go with the custom library to create your own design by entering the canvas dimensions of your choice.
Element Animations and Actions
Adding animations can bring out your designs. With Visme, you can easily add animations and transitions to your designs and presentations.
You can add animations and actions to your creatives from the action button. Simply select the element (such as a heading) > click on actions in the top right corner, and select Animate. Now you can choose the effect you wish to add to your chosen element.
You can select the entry, exit animations, and transitions and play with the timeline to control when the animation starts and ends. While some options are not available in the free version, you can still create standard eye-catching animations.
Visme comes with a decent builder to help you create insightful presentations. You can use animations, interactive elements, integrations to make your presentations more impactful.
Like any other asset type, you also get templates for presentations too. You can select your desired style from a list of presentation templates.
The editor interface is pretty user-friendly. You get all the design options towards the left and the slides overview towards the right. So you can efficiently perform basic and advanced actions such as adding a new slide, editing individual slides, adding animations and transitions from the same interface.
Visme also has a presenter studio that lets you present from a more intuitive interface.
Charts and Infographics
Visme allows you to create impressive and intuitive charts to represent data using auto-generated graphs and designs skillfully.
You can easily create a graph by clicking on the Add new option. You get predesigned templates for different use cases. Then you can select the graph type, such as bar graph or area charts, and select the desired design from the results.
Once you are in the editor interface, you can select the chart and enter the values in the chart data table. If you want to import data from a CSV file, you can do that too. Regarding the design, you can make style customizations to charts and graphs like any other element. It’s all pretty easy!
Analytics and Statistics
For every project you have, you get an analytics dashboard to track the traffic and activity for your projects. This can allow you to draw the effectiveness of your projects over any given period. The analytics interface tracks vital metrics such as total views, viewers, activity, average visits, IPs, locations, sources, and referrals.
The option to track analytics is only available in the business and enterprise plans. You don’t get analytics access with the personal or single-user plan.
Visme has robust documentation and an in-depth help center to help you get more familiar with the product. If you need assistance, you can reach their 24/7 customer support team to resolve your issue. You only get 24/7 email and chat support with the personal and business plan.
The team also does regular live streams regarding product guides, tutorials, new features, and tips. You can check their support page to stay updated about upcoming streams.
Visme comes with a free account option, so if you want to test waters before jumping in, sign up for the free account. You get almost all essential features with the free version to help you get started with Visme, and you don’t need to enter your credit card information to get started. However, a Visme logo stamp will be added to all design assets that you’ll download, and you’ll only have the option to download in JPEG format.
Regarding paid plans, Visme has two primary paid plans, Personal and Business.
The Personal plan costs $12.25/month, billed annually, and comes with 250 MB storage space, full access to templates and assets, an option to download PDFs, and 24/7 chat and email support.

I tested Visme for quite some time and created a few designs to see its capabilities, and I must say, it is one of the best tools I’ve used for creating assets online. In addition, the Branded Templates feature made it easy to import the website style such as font, logo, colors, and themes.
With a massive library of templates and graphics, it was pretty easy to conceptualize and create insightful presentations and infographics.
While I am impressed with the features and Visme’s capabilities, I expected a mobile app for the editor. If you majorly use a desktop for managing your design work, this shouldn’t be an issue.
Overall, Visme is an impressive tool that is worth exploring. If you are looking for an alternative to Canva, I recommend checking out Visme. The advanced feature sets, analytics, and animations are worth checking out.
