Hands-On with Hippoo! WooComerce admin app

In this section, I’ll tell you how to install and configure Hippoo for Android and WooCommerce.
First, open the Google Play store on your Android handset and download Hippoo for Android.

Then, install Hippoo’s WooCommerce plugin from the following URL: https://hippoo.app/

The plugin acts as the authentication bridge between the app and your shop. Additionally, it provides features that are not available via the WooCommerce API.
On Hippoo for Android, follow the on-screen instructions to authenticate your store and start leveraging different features.

Creating Orders Manually

Creating a new order on Hippoo is straightforward and efficient. Here’s how I go about it:

Opening orders

First, open Hippoo and head to the order list.

Creating a new order

Tap the “+” icon on the toolbar. This action creates a new order.

Setting order status

Next, choose your order status. If you leave this blank, it defaults to “Pending payment.”

Adding shipping address

Input your customer’s full address. You can type it manually or choose it from an existing customer or order. Tap on your selection, and Hippoo will auto-fill the information.

Adding product items

Time to add items to your order. You have two ways to do this. One, you can pick from the product list. Two, use the in-app scanner to scan the product SKU. Hippoo will find the items for you.

Choosing shipping method

Now, select the order’s shipping method. You can pick from the available options or adjust the shipping price manually if needed.

Selecting payment method

Choose the payment method from the options available in your shop.

Finalizing order

Before submitting, double-check all order details. Once everything looks good, tap “Submit” on the toolbar. Hippoo generates your order in an instant.

This streamlined process makes manual order creation a breeze in Hippoo, perfect for managing your WooCommerce store.

Managing Orders

The second thing I did after installing Hippoo is test its order management capabilities.

And I am not exaggerating when I say that it has all the functions you need to streamline your order fulfillment process, from order details to communicating with customers to editing orders and more.

Here’s how to use the key functions:

Viewing orders

Open the app and navigate to the order list. Each order displays key information. Tap an order to expand it for more details.

Searching orders

Need to find an order? Use the search bar at the top. Type in customer names, order IDs, or any relevant detail to get results quickly.

Using barcode scanner

Locate orders with the built-in barcode scanner. Click the barcode icon on the search bar, then scan the order ID from an invoice or shipment.

Editing orders

To alter an order, tap the burger menu on the order, then select “Edit order.” Now you can add or remove products, update the shipping address, or change payment methods.

Adding order notes

Add notes to an order for better organization. Select “Add note” from the burger menu of the order. To view all notes, simply tap “Show notes”.

Managing Product Inventory

Keeping your product inventory in check is no problem with Hippoo. As an store owner, I’ve found it to be an invaluable tool, and I’m sure you will too. Here’s a quick rundown on how to use it.

Accessing the product list

Once you’re in Hippoo, tap the “Products” tab. You’ll see a list of all your products, complete with product images, prices, stock status, and SKUs.

Featuring products

If you want a product to stand out, just tap the star icon on the product card’s top-right corner.

Filtering products

At the bottom of the screen, you can filter products based on their statuses.

Finding products

Use Hippoo’s barcode scanner to locate a product using its SKU code. Alternatively, type in the product name to find it manually.

Editing products

Tap on a product card to edit it. You can change the price, name, stock description, and more.

Sharing products

Hippoo also makes it easy to share products on social media or send product details to someone directly.

Adding SKUs

You can add a product SKU by scanning its barcode. Just open the product details, tap the barcode scanner, scan the product’s barcode, and hit save.

Updating Order Status

Updating order statuses in bulk is a cinch with Hippoo’s Status Updater. Here’s how I use it:

Accessing Status Updater

In Hippoo, go to the main menu and tap “Status Updater”. You’ll see a list of order statuses.

Changing order status

Choose the status you want for your orders. Hit the “Start Scan” button to get the barcode scanner up and running.

Scanning barcodes

Now, scan the barcode of each order with Hippoo’s built-in scanner. The order status updates automatically with each scan.

Generating the CSV List

Once all barcodes are scanned, Hippoo makes a CSV list with the details of updated orders. Find this list in the designated Hippoo file location on your phone.

Using the Status Updater, I can change the status of multiple orders by just scanning barcodes. It’s a real time-saver, and it keeps my order management workflow accurate.

Hippoo! Pricing

Both Hippoo for Android and Hippo WooCommerce plugin are free to install.

However, advanced features like inventory tracking, sales reporting, as well as tools to monitor out-of-stock items and product reviews require a Premium subscription.

Hippoo offers 1-month free(No credit card needed) and then €49 for a one-year premium subscription. You can access it through the top bar on your Android handset.

Final Verdict

So, there you have it. With Hippoo for Android, the seemingly Herculean task of managing your WooCommerce shop becomes as simple as a walk in the park.

No more battling with cumbersome emails and clunky website admin dashboards. Instead, think of managing orders, products, and inventory comfortably from your couch, using your trusty smartphone as the control center.

Ditch the daunting drill of traditional WooCommerce management.
