Embed Plus is a plugin for WordPress which allows you greater control over your Youtube videos that are embedded on your site. It provides the following features without altering the original video :
- Custom Chapters for Scene Skipping
- Web Viewer Reactions
- Timed Annotations
- Instant Replay
- Scene/Video Looping
- Video Cropping
- Slow Motion On-Demand
- Movable Zoom

In this review I will be taking a look at how to install and configure the plugin.
Download Embed Plus for Free »
Install The Plugin
Download the plugin, then in your WordPress admin, visit “Plugins” > “Add New” > “Upload” and upload the file.

Activate the plugin and you will see a new menu item under “Settings” called ” Embed Plus”.
Plugin Settings
Visit the settings page and you will see 3 options to enable or disable : Automatically enhance all your YouTube embeds, Allow visitors to see Real-time Reactions and Enable Sweetspot Marking for the next/previous buttons :

Adding a Video
Videos are added by short code, to begin configuring what options you need, visit the Embed Plus site which has a Wizard to help you:

Once you have entered your video URL you have a page with all the available options, you can set things like the start and stop time, scene markers, annotations and allow real-time reactions :

Once you have entered your setting, hit the “Get Code” button and you will be given a shortcode to embed on your site :

Paste the short code into a post or page and you will see the normal YouTube player with the extra Embed Plus controls underneath it, like so :

Conclusion
I liked this plugin a lot – its pretty easy to use with the shortcode wizard, I did think this might be brought into the plugin itself though to save you having to visit their website to set up a video, I suppose this isnt a huge problem though.
If you use a lot of videos on your site and want greater control over them then this plugin is ideal.

This looks like a great alternative to what I’m using at the moment. Never heard of Embed plus, but seems okay for embedding videos. Thanks!
